How are notes used in Marvin?

Notes are the building blocks of your research and analysis on Marvin. This article will take you through all the features and options available to you while making notes.

Note-taking features

A transcript is generated for every call you record. You’ll find it below the video. To make a note, just highlight any portion of the text. This is the box that will open up.

You can do any of the following:

  • Generate an auto note using AI

  • Type out your note

  • Add a label

  • Tag an interview question

  • Summarize the selected transcript

  • Copy the selected transcript

Generate an auto note using AI

If you click on ‘Create Auto Note’, Marvin will make a note based on the selected portion, as well as context from the rest of the transcript.

Type out your note

You can also type out your own note the box. Click ‘Create Note’ once you’re done.

Add a label

Click ‘Add labels’ to see all the labels created for this project. Check the box against the label you want to add.

You can also create or edit your label template for the project if you click ‘Manage’. You can learn more about label templates in our help center article.

Tag an interview question

Select ‘Add interview question’ to tag that specific portion of the transcript to a question in your discussion guide. You can also switch between discussion guides in the project.

Summarize transcript

You can ask Marvin to summarize the highlighted text. It will make sure to cover each point.

Once the summary is created, click ‘Create note’. Unlike an auto note, it does not use the context of the rest of the transcript. It merely summarizes the points the speaker mentions.

You can also choose to summarize the entire transcript.

Copy transcript

You can copy the text of the transcript and paste it in a document or Insight.
