Add transcript vocabulary

Add words that appear often in your call recording to train Marvin's transcription model

Updated over a week ago

What is a transcript vocabulary?

Some names or context-specific words may be used often in your calls. To make sure that Marvin transcribes these terms accurately, you can teach the system to watch out for them.

What is the benefit of adding a transcript vocabulary?

Marvin does pick up terms automatically and this is an optional step. You may do this to highlight certain terms or phrases that are hard to identify in transcripts or have certain spellings.

This is particularly useful when conducting qualitative thematic research, as it allows for more accurate and comprehensive analysis of the transcribed data.

It's important to note that while Marvin's transcription engine is highly accurate, manual addition of keywords to the transcript vocabulary can further enhance the accuracy and relevance of transcripts. It also allows you to tailor transcripts to your specific research needs.

How do I add to the transcript vocabulary?

You’ll find ‘Transcript Settings’ when you select 'Project Overview' for any project.

You’ll see a couple of options on this page:

  1. You can change the language for the transcript. Just select the relevant one from the drop down menu. It is set to US English by default

  2. To add specific words to the transcript vocabulary, click ‘Edit’, type the terms and press ‘Save’. You can type the terms directly, without using any quotation marks.
