Viewers can use their account to uncover insights from their team's existing research

About Discover Research

Discover Research is a research repository within your research repository, tailored to a non-researcher audience. With Discover Research, anyone with a viewer license can:

Discover Research makes it easier than ever for researchers to prove value at the highest level.

Users need to log in to view Discover Research page of their team. Discover Research are viewable in two modes. You can be switched back and forth between these modes.

  • Discover Mode: You can view and share Discover Research page as a standalone landing page. This is also the default landing page for Viewers.

  • Edit Mode: You can view and share Discover Research as a page within your team's Marvin app environment.

Use Discover Research as a Viewer

1. Browse and discover all published insights from a centralized location

You can start browsing and exploring all published insights by Research Areas. Research Areas help spotlight insights that are mostly related.

  • Scroll down Discover Research page

  • Left hand-side panel list all available Research Areas. Click the area that you want to explore. The number right next to each area indicates how many insights there are in the area.

  • Right hand-side: List of all published insights in that Research Area. You can filter by Projects.

  • To view an insight, simply click on the insight and you will be directed to the insight landing page.

2. Search through your entire database using keyword search

You can search through your database by just typing in keywords.

  • Click 'Find Research'

  • Enter the keyword or terms in the search bar.

  • (Optional) Choose created date range of the search results, whether they are notes, files, transcripts and docs, insights and playlists. If you skip this, it will be "All time" by default.

  • Click 'Explore'

  • Learn about how to use filters to narrow down your search results.

3. Find answers to questions by Ask AI

You can "ChatGPT" your database with Marvin AI .

  • Click "Ask AI"

  • Enter the question or prompt in the search bar

  • (Optional) Choose created date range of the information where the AI pull answers from, whether they are notes, files, transcripts and docs, insights and playlists. If you skip this, it will be "All time" by default.

  • Click "Explore"

  • Learn about how to narrow the information for Marvin AI to generate more relevant response

Who can view Discover Research page?

In order to view Discover Research page, the person needs to be on your team with at least a Viewer license. Depending your paid plan, your team might have from 5 to Unlimited number of Viewers. For details, you can view Pricing page.

How do I switch from Edit Mode to Discover Mode for Discover Research?

Click "Discover Mode" on the top right of the page. Discover Research page (Discover Mode) will be open in a new tab.

How do I switch from Discover Mode to Edit Mode for Discover Research?

  • Click your name on the top right

  • Click "Open in edit mode"

  • Discover Research page (Discover Mode) will be open in a new tab.

How do I filter my search results to find the most relevant results?

When you perform a keyword search, depending on the results and types of results, there are filters available for you to narrow down your search results.

What keyword operators can I use?

+ (Plus Sign): Require Both Terms
Use to find results that contain both the terms
Example: project + management

| (The OR) : Find Results with Either Term
Use to find results that contain one term or the other.
Example: Annotate | Annotation

"" (Quotation Marks): Search Exact Phrases
Enclose a phrase in quotation marks to find results with that exact wording and order.
Example: "project management tools"

Where does Marvin pull the responses from when I use Ask AI?

Marvin AI will generate the responses based on the information that the user has access to, which are:

  • Published insights

  • Files and shared insights from projects that are shared with the user

  • (Based on Admin's settings) Shared insights from projects that are not shared with the user

How do I give context to AI so it can generate better responses?

You can use filters to give AI more context and improve results. Here are available filters that you can use:

  • Date Created: All Time | Last 1 Month | Last 3 Months | Last 1 Year

  • Projects

  • File Tags

  • File Type: Interviews | Documents | Insights | Survey |
