What are the benefits of live streaming and telecast ?
Ever wish you could invite your teammates to observe a live interview or focus group call?
You can do just that with Marvin's live stream and telecast feature. Create a virtual backroom, where teammates and stakeholders can view an ongoing session. They can observe calls without interrupting participants.
They can take notes and chat with team members if their role on Marvin includes access to Live Notes.
All roles on an Enterprise plan can join a live stream or telecast.
What is the difference between live streaming and telecast?
When you want to invite specific people to observe a call, select the live streaming option. You will have to share the streaming link with all of these people.
Use the telecast option when you want to make the call accessible to your entire team. You will see all telecast meetings in "Discover Research".
How to live stream and telecast calls
You can enable a live stream or telecast in any of these three ways:
From the Meetings & live streams tab
Head to the Meetings & live streams tab from the left navigation menu.
If you've integrated your calendar, you'll see your scheduled meetings for the week. Select the meeting you want to live stream or telecast. You can connect your calendar in a few simple steps if you haven't already integrated. Otherwise, enable this while you record the call.
If you haven't already scheduled recording, you must toggle on "Schedule bot to record the meeting" and select the project where you want to store the recording. The live stream and telecast options will only become available when you complete this step.
If you've already scheduled recording, toggle on "Stream meeting" or "Telecast meeting".
If you choose to stream the meeting, you must share the link with invitees. If you telecast the meeting, it will be visible on the Discover Research tab and everyone in your Marvin team will be able to join the meeting.
While scheduling the bot
You can enable streaming or telecast any time you schedule the bot to join a meeting. To learn how to schedule the bot, you can check out our help center article on recording calls.
While scheduling, toggle on the option for "Stream meeting".
Click "Copy streaming link" and share the link people you want to invite.
You can choose to telecast as well as stream a call. Just enable "Telecast meeting on 'Discover Research' page".
People outside your Marvin team cannot access the telecast link on "Discover Research". You will have to share the live streaming link with them.
On an ongoing call
You can also stream or telecast after a call has started. You'll see this option on the Live notes page. Toggle "Start live streaming" or "Telecast streaming" to create a virtual backroom.
Use the same toggles to end the stream or telecast.
Collaborating on a live stream
People watching the live stream or telecast can take notes and also chat with others on the Live Notes pages.
However, they must be Note takers, Contributors or Admins in Marvin to have access to Live Notes. All roles, including Viewers, can chat during the call. They must be logged in to send messages on the chat.
You can use live stream and telecast to discuss with your teammates, and get feedback and suggestions in real-time. Your team mates can join or leave the call without disturbing participants.
