What is organization memory?

An AI librarian uses the details in these documents to create a structured, internal wiki. When anyone asks a question, Ask AI decides whether to draw from your customer knowledge, the internal wiki, or both.
Include details such as industry jargon, your company’s product or services, goals, value propositions, workflows, etc., to create a shared context layer in Marvin. Each time a team member uses Ask AI, they get more consistent, connected, and detailed responses to their questions.
Admins on Enterprise and Pro can upload documents to organization memory. Questions asked by all roles on Enterprise and Pro plans may include details from organizational memory.
What kind of documents should I upload to organization memory?
Add documents to organization memory that help Marvin understand your industry and company better. These details help the AI make more connections across your data.
Consider uploading onboarding guides, policy documents, brand guidelines, process playbooks, organization charts, training material, etc.
Do not upload sensitive information as it may be shown in an answer.
How do I upload documents to organization memory?
Select Settings > Admin Settings in the left navigation bar.
Open the Organization memory tab. You must be an Admin on a Pro or Enterprise plan to access this feature.
Click Upload document and choose the files on your device. At a time, you can upload up to 5 files of up to 5 MB each. You can upload PDFs, TXT/MD files, and PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WEBP images. There is no cap on the total number of files you can upload to your Organization memory.

Q. Who can upload documents to the knowledge base?
A. Only Admins on Pro and Enterprise plans can upload and manage organization memory documents.
Q. Is there a restriction on how many files I can upload at once?
A. You can upload up to 5 files together. There is no cap on the total number of documents you can upload.
Q. Is there a file size limit for each document?
A. Yes, you upload documents of up to 5 MB.
Q. Which file types are supported?
A. You can upload documents and images as PDFs, TXT/MD, PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WEBP.
Q. How does Ask AI decide when to use the organization memory?
A. Ask AI makes that decision based on the question. For example, questions about product behaviour consult the wiki. Questions about customers draw on customer knowledge. Questions that need both, such as "are users confused by how our export works?", draw from both.
Q. Will Ask AI cite documents in organization memory?
A. No, organization memory content is woven naturally into answers. Only collected data in Marvin will be cited in answers.
Q. Can Admins view or edit what the AI has understood?
A. Not yet. Admins can only add or delete files at this stage. We are working to add the capability to view and edit what the AI has understood.
Q. Can Admins replace an existing document?
A. Not yet. Admins can delete a document and upload a new version, but replacement is not currently supported.
