Share research and control who has access to it

Share recordings, notes, clips, Playlists, and more

Updated today

Marvin helps you easily share research with teammates and even external stakeholders if required.

You can share interviews, clips, Insights, notes, Playlists, and files in Marvin.

How do I share research?

You’ll notice a “Share” option across Marvin.

In interviews and files, you’ll find it in the top toolbar.

You’ll also see it every time you hover over a note or clip.

Or you’ll see the share link option for Playlists.

Who can view my research?

You have complete control over who can view Marvin links. Choose to restrict access to your team, or enable external stakeholders to view research.

Admins can also choose the extent of data Viewers can access, as well as which team members can view Insights and Playlists.

Restrict access to my Marvin team

Admins can manage access from “Admin Settings” under “More” on the homepage.

Navigate to the “Data access” tab and toggle off “Share Marvin research with everyone”. When disabled, only logged in Marvin users will be able to view data on links you share with them.

In case a teammate you want to share research with does not have a Marvin account, you can invite them to your team. You can extend Viewer access to them in case they want to just consume research.

Users who have access to the project where the file, clip, note or Playlist is stored will be able to view and edit notes, the transcript, etc.

Users who do not have access to the project will not be able to view notes, make edits to the file, or run AI analysis on it.

Extend access to external stakeholders

If you want to share research even with people who do not have a Marvin account, toggle on “Share Marvin research with everyone” in Admin settings.

People who do not have access to the project will not be able to view notes, make edits to the file, or run AI analysis.

Restrict Viewers to just Insights and Playlists

Admins can choose how much of the repository Viewers can access.

Toggle on “Viewers can access only Insights & Playlists” if you want users with Viewer accounts to only be able to read and comment on Insights. They will also be able to watch Playlists.

If you switch off this setting, Viewers can search and access data across the projects shared with them. They will be able to view notes, clips, files and recordings as well.

Share Insights and Playlists with the entire team

Admins have an option to “Let all team members view Insights & Playlists”.

When you keep this setting on, all members of the team can view published Insights and Playlists across all projects. Private and draft Insights are not shared with the rest of the team until you publish them.

Switch this setting off when you want users to be restricted to Insights and Playlists for the projects to which they have access.

Keep this setting on to help users discover research by other team members.
