Move files to another project or make someone else the owner

Move your files and Insights to other projects, or transfer ownership of a project

Updated today

Need to reorganize data across projects? Or move a call to a different project?

In Marvin, it’s easy to move your files across projects. This is also a handy way to share specific files with a larger group in case you don’t want to share the entire project.

How do I move files in Marvin?

Navigate to the project where your file is currently stored. Click to open the three dots menu and select “Move”.

You’ll also see this option for all Insights.

Locate the project that will be the new location from the list. Select “Move here” to confirm.

You'll see a message at the bottom of the screen, confirming that the file or Insight has been successfully moved.

A few things to remember:

  1. You’ll only be able to move it to a project to which you have access.

  2. All team members with access to the selected project will now be able to view and edit the file you move.

  3. Make sure all the members of the selected project are authorized to view the file.

  4. Team members who are not a part of the selected project will no longer be able to access the file you move.

How do I transfer ownership of an Insight?

For any Insights you create, you can make another Admin, Contributor, or Notetaker the owner. Admins can transfer ownership for all Insights in projects they can access.

Open the three dots menu and select "Change Insight owner". Search for the person by name or email. The change will happen immediately, and you will no longer be the owner of the Insight. You will still be able to access it if you have access to the project where it is stored.

How do I transfer ownership of a project?

Project owners and Admins can make someone else the owner of a project. You'll see this option when you click the three dots against the project on the home page.

If an admin suspends a user who is no longer using Marvin, all their projects automatically transfer to that admin.
