In Marvin, you’ll use both tags and labels to organize your repository. In this article, you’ll learn how they’re different and when to use each of them
Tags vs labels
Tags are used to identify and group your files and Insights.
Labels are used to organize notes.
For example, you can add tags such as ‘User Interview’ and ‘Internal calls’ to recordings. You can then use these tags to filter file results on Search, Cross-Project Analysis and Ask AI.
Within user interviews, you can attach different labels such as ‘feature request’ or ‘bug’ to notes. This helps you easily group all notes about bugs or feature requests. Use labels to filter notes on Search, Analyze, Cross-Project Analysis and Ask AI.
How do I attach tags?
To add a tag to a file, navigate to a project and go to ‘Files’.
There’s a tag icon on every file. Click it to add or remove tags.
Click the check box against a tag to add it to a file or deselect a tag to remove it.
You can create a template of the tags you need for each project. Use an existing template or create a new one. Click ‘Manage’ to edit your template.
For each group of tags, you can decide whether you want it to be visible across all projects or restrict it to specific projects. You can find out more in our help center article.
How do I attach labels?
You can add labels while making Live Notes or on a transcript after a call has been recorded.
You can use an existing label template or create a new one. Apply a template to just one project or all projects in your repository.
