Once your Intercept collects responses, you can access them all together in a single place to dive deeper and analyze.
Marvin also auto-generates an overview and analysis of the responses, so you can find insights as soon as data flows in. It updates automatically as you collect more responses.
How do I access my study?
1. From the Studies tab
Open Studies from the left navigation menu. Apply filters or search for your Intercept to find it more quickly.
Click the study to access the overview and all responses.
2. From the project where it is stored
Each Intercept is stored in a project, selected at the time of setup. Open Projects from the left navigation menu and search for it by name.
Inside the project, each Intercept will be visible as a single file, with individual responses stored within it.
If you aren’t sure which project was selected during setup, you can also open the project from the Studies tab. You'll see an Open project icon against the Intercept name.
How do I view responses in the study?
Marvin organizes the data in the interviews in two ways:
1. Questions tab: View all participant responses to a single question
Click Questions to view responses grouped by each question in your discussion guide or Intercept.
For each question, Marvin’s AI will pull insights from the responses into an overview under Summary. To learn how the AI arrived at these, you can check Sources.
Wherever relevant, you'll also see charts and graphs in the Summary tab to help you visualize the data.
2. Individual respondents: View all responses from a single respondent together
Select Individual respondents to view responses grouped by each study participant.
Select any participant’s name to see all their answers. You can also play the recording from this tab. Click the video thumbnail under Full session to watch the interview.
Overview and analysis
In the Questions tab, Marvin will automatically create a summary for each question, so you can answer the hypothesis central to your study.
For example, in an Intercept where we asked people to choose between chocolate and cheese, the AI analysis immediately showed that a majority chose chocolate.
Any Marvin user with access to the study can see these insights without having to analyze individual responses.
Analyze with Ask AI
To find insights in the data, type your query in the Ask AI bar in the Questions tab.
Or use the suggested prompts to get started.
When you ask a question, Marvin will auto-detect whether you want to analyze responses from one, multiple, or all questions in the study. If there are multiple options, it'll ask for clarification before giving you an answer
Select the questions from the list or run the analysis on the entire study.
Or, before you run the query, click + Questions and select the relevant questions.
For each answer, you can check which data Ask AI considered. You'll see the information under the question, as "Entire study", "1 question applied, etc."
Marvin will cite each insight to the exact respondent it came from.
You can also:
Expand the chat to read the full answer easily
Ask follow-up questions in the chat to modify your question or dig deeper
Prompt Marvin to build a report, slide, structured analysis, or any chart
It may ask for an input to clarify your query.
Ask AI can help you identify trends, patterns, and outliers, and present it in easy-to read takeaways. Use it to speed up your analysis, focus on specific questions or participants, and surface hard-to-identify insights.
Marvin will only consider data from the study question(s) you attached while asking a question. If you did not attach a question, it will use insights across questions to answer your question.
Ask AI within a study does not consider the rest of your research in Marvin while generating an answer. However, you can analyze it with any combination of data when you run a repository-wide Ask AI search.
