Overview
We’re redesigning Marvin to help you navigate more easily, quickly access your most-visited files, and stay updated about your team’s research. In this article, we’ll cover the key changes on the platform and how you can make the most of them.
When can I try the new experience?
The new interface will be automatically enabled and set as the default for all roles across all plans on May 21, 2026, through June 25, 2026. You can toggle between the existing and new experience.
After June 25, Marvin 2.0 will become the default experience for all users.
Who will have access to the new experience?
The new design will be the default for all roles: Admins, Contributors, the new Collaborator seat, and Viewers on all plans — Free, Standard, and Enterprise —from May 21, 2026. You don’t have to subscribe to see the new changes.
Can I go back to the old experience?
From May 21, 2026, to June 24, 2026, you can toggle between the old and the new versions of the app to acquaint yourself with the new changes. On June 25, 2026, the toggle will be removed, and the new experience will become permanent for all roles across all plans.
If you're an Admin or Contributor, you'll find the toggle under Settings in the main navigation. If you're a Collaborator, click on More in the main navigation.
What is changing?
The key changes in the new experience are mostly navigation-related. We’ve made each tab more streamlined and intuitive to help you quickly find what you need and collaborate easily with teammates.
Every feature, project, and insight you and your team have created will still be there. You may see minor changes in functionality to match the new UI.
Roles on Marvin
We’ve added a new seat: Collaborator, which is designed for users who don’t need all the tools in Marvin. Collaborators will have access to files, Insights, and Playlists, and nothing extra.
A new home page
When you log in, you’ll land on the new, customizable homepage. Here, you can pin your most important projects, files, and topics to create shortcuts for easy access.
We’ve also made it easier to run Ask AI. Ask questions, apply filters, and switch between modes, all from your homepage.
The main navigation menu
We’ve reorganized the main navigation menu so you can easily access projects and meetings, and discover research.
The Research Panel can be accessed from “More research tools”.
You’ll find that Templates and Cross-project analysis have also been moved under this tab.
If you’re an Admin in Marvin, click Settings to:
Access analytics data
Set up integrations
Check and edit admin settings
Check and edit team settings
Access the help center and latest product updates
Contact support
Admins can also toggle between the original and the new experience from Settings.
Collaborators in Marvin will have access to Projects, the Knowledge Hub, and Meetings & Live Streams.
They can set up integrations, access the help center, and product updates from "More". Collaborators can toggle between the original and the new experience from this menu.
Viewers can toggle between the two experiences by clicking on their user icon.
Navigation within projects
Inside projects, we’ve regrouped all the options under:
Analysis
Reporting
Setup
Under Analysis, you can
Analyze notes: Synthesize findings across all project notes
Deep research: Create Deep Research reports based on your prompt
Boards: Create affinity mapping, Kanban, and Canvas boards to identify themes
Under Reporting, you can access all the Insights and Playlists in the project.
Setup is where researchers and admins can manage the discussion guides, labels, project participants, project overview, and project-level settings.
You can quickly jump to another project by clicking on the project name. Just select any project from the list.
Other UI and functionality changes
Across roles, we've made some helpful UI changes and reduced clutter:
Analyze notes in full-screen mode: Admins and Collaborators can access more notes at once on the Analyze page with the new full-screen mode. They can toggle it on from the top right corner of the Analyze page in any project.
2. Fewer icons on each Project: We've removed some of the icons you see when you hover over each project in the Projects page. However, none of the functionality has been removed, and you can still perform each action from within the project.
You still have quick access to pin projects, share them with other users, and copy the project-specific bot email ID.
3. File tag filters on the project page: Within each project, you'll find the file tag filters in the top toolbar instead of the left menu.
4. Changes for Viewers: The Analyze tab and Project overview will no longer be visible to Viewers in each project. This won't have any impact on functionality, as Viewers cannot make changes on these pages.
