Why should I integrate Marvin with Microsoft Teams?

Marvin helps you share insights in tools where your team already works. Users don’t need to switch tools to stay updated on customer insights.

With the Microsoft Teams integration, you can automatically share file summaries and Insights to Teams channels

All Admins, Contributors, and Collaborators on Enterprise plans can share file summaries and Insights on Marvin to Microsoft Teams.

How do I Integrate my Microsoft Teams account?

To enable sharing, all users must complete the integration on both apps.

1. Integrate on Marvin

If a Team Owner or Team Admin on Microsoft Teams has already integrated with Marvin, you will be connected. When a Team Owner completes this step, it is done for the entire team. You will see a "Disconnect" option on the Integrations page.

You can then skip ahead to connecting your individual account on Microsoft Teams. Click the arrow next to "Disconnect".

If Microsoft Teams hasn't been connected for your team yet, click "Connect". You must be a Team Owner or Team Admin on Microsoft Teams to complete this step. Or, reach out to your admin. You can visit the Microsoft help center article to learn more about roles in Microsoft Teams.

You’ll see a new tab or window open* for the Microsoft login page.

*Please make sure your browser settings allow pop-up windows, or the login page will not open.

If you’re already logged in, select the workspace you want to integrate.

Your workspace is now connected for all Microsoft Teams users. Next, each user must individually complete the integration on Microsoft Teams.

2. Integrate on Microsoft Teams.

Step 1:

If your workspace is already connected, click the arrow under Microsoft Teams on the Integrations tab.

You’ll also see an option to integrate in project settings if you try to configure sharing on Microsoft Teams.

Step 2:

You’ll be redirected to a page where you must log in to your Microsoft account.

Step 3:

Once you've successfully logged in to your Microsoft account, head over to https://teams.cloud.microsoft/

Select Apps > Manage your apps. Search for Heymarvin using the search bar. Select the app and click Add to complete the installation.

Once the installation is complete, you'll see an option to add the HeyMarvin app immediately to any channel in Teams. Once you do, you can set up automatic sharing of file summaries.

Automate sharing to Microsoft Teams

You can use the integration to share research in Marvin with your team on Microsoft Teams. Setup automations to share summaries of published Insights and all new project files to specified channels in Microsoft Teams.*

*Make published Insights visible to everyone to use this feature. Admins can switch it on from "Data access" in Admin settings.

After you've connected your Microsoft Teams account, you'll see an option to configure on the Integrations tab.

Users must link a project in Marvin to a channel in Microsoft Teams to share summaries for each new file and published Insights*.

*Admins can restrict sharing to just file summaries from Admin settings.

However, intanyone with access to a project can override this from project settings. They can either choose a different channel or switch off automated sharing to Microsoft Teams for the project.

View summaries and Insights directly in Microsoft Teams

When you share links to files in Marvin, your teammates can read summaries and Insights directly in Microsoft Teams*. They can consume research and gather context without leaving Microsoft Teams.

*Make published Insights visible to everyone to use this feature. Admins can switch it on from "Data access" in Admin settings.

Q. How do I disconnect my Microsoft Teams account from Marvin

A. Click “Disconnect” on the Integrations page to delink your account. However, this will disconnect the integration for all users in your Microsoft workspace.
