When should I use Kanban boards?
Kanban boards can be a great way for you to visualize the notes in your research project. You can use a board to sort all notes by theme, topic, interview, speaker, etc. This can help uncover trends and patterns in the information. It’s also useful when you want to visually present the workflow in a project.
How do I use Kanban boards in Marvin?
Navigate to your project. Look for “Boards” in the “Analyze” tab.
Give your board a name that is easily identifiable. All users who have access to this project will be able to view the board in the “Analyze” tab.
Organizing notes
You’ll see all the notes in that project under a column titled “Ungrouped”. Click “Add Group” to create new columns. Drag and drop notes to categorize them.
Use the search bar and filters to work on a specific set of notes. You can apply multiple filters across labels, questions, participants, surveys, file tags, sentiment and date.
If you want to organize columns in a specific sequence, click on the three dot menu to move the group to the left or right. Use this menu to also rename or delete columns.
In case you want to read the part of the transcript to which each note is attached, toggle on “Transcript” in the toolbar. Click anywhere on the note to watch that clip in the recording.
Add notes to reports
After you’ve organized your notes, you can easily add them to reports or even export them directly from the Kanban board.
Select multiple notes by clicking the tick mark in the top left corner. Or select all notes with the option under the “Ungrouped” column.
A great way to share research with your team is to add notes to an Insight report. Select “Add to Insight” to create a new report or add to an existing one. Click “Insights” to browse reports in that project.
If you feel that hearing from research participants directly would have more impact, Marvin can stitch all the clips together into one video. Choose “Add to Playlist” to create a new Playlist or add to an existing one.
Marvin also gives you the option to export these notes to Miro, Figma and Google Sheets.
