What is Auto analysis?
You can analyze the data in your repository in a few different ways. While Ask AI can help you find answers to specific questions about your data, Auto Analysis has some useful preset options. Evaluate your research within certain frameworks, such as thematic analysis, quantified analysis, Q&A tables, etc.
Quickly uncover patterns, trends and correlations that take long to surface with manual analysis. Use this feature to accelerate discovery from large data sets and make sure you don’t leave out any relevant insights.
How do I use Auto analysis?
Navigate to your research project and select ‘Auto analysis’ from the menu.
You’ll be able to access past auto analysis on this project, or start afresh.
New analysis
You can ask Marvin to do any of the following:
Uncover information about a topic: Think of this is a basic thematic analysis of the project data
Prove/disprove a hypothesis (Validate assumption): Tell Marvin the hypothesis you’ve used to conduct research. It will tell you if the data so far proves or disproves your idea.
Find quotes about…: Pick a topic for which you want user feedback and ask Marvin to find you quotes. You can use these as block quotes, clips or even a playlist in reports to substantiate your point.
Quantified thematic analysis: Marvin can make a detailed thematic analysis for you, backed with quantifiable data.
Create a persona: Understand your users with the data you have. Marvin will create a fictional persona to reflect the typical user of the product or service you evaluated. It will use context from the project documents to build this persona.
Question/Answer table: Find the answers to each question in your discussion guide neatly laid out in a table. This can help you visualize the data better and collate insights quickly.
Create insight report: Ask Marvin to present your research findings as a document. Give it more information on what the report should be about and the files that should be used. Use the file tags to focus on the right data set to get better results.
Custom prompt: If none of the above options work for you, tell Marvin what kind of analysis you need. Be specific about the query and the data set to get the best answers.

Add analysis to Insight reports
There are other ways to share the analysis with the rest of your team. Click ‘Add to Insight’ and choose from the existing reports. You’ll see an option to create a new one too.
This is a great way to make your reports more comprehensive and showcase your research. You can read more about creating Insight reports in our help center.
Data sources
To check the sources Marvin referred to while generating the answer, select ‘Data source’. You can read a summary of each document and also navigate to it.
Regenerate answers
If you’re not satisfied with the results, click ‘Re-analyze’. Marvin will go over all the sources again and revise the answer. Let us know how accurate the answer was by rating it. If you want to start over, you can delete the analysis too.
