Marvin uses different AI and models for transcription and translation. Let's explore how to get it done on Marvin.

To have your video or audio transcribed correctly, you must choose the language for it.

To set a default language for transcription at a project level, you must choose a project language when you create a new project. Marvin will use this default setting to process all video and audio files in this project.

To change your project language, you can go to the project, then Project Overview -> Transcript Settings on the top right. After changing, all your new files will be transcribed in the new language.

You can also change the transcription language of a file. This is usually needed when there are interviews of different languages in one project. To change a file's transcription language, you can go to the file, then click the Language dropdown -> Choose the new language. This action will keep your notes intact. However, this will prompt Marvin to generate a new AI summary.

If you are unsatisfied with the transcription quality of a file, you can attempt to regenerate the transcription by clicking the "Regenerate" button under the video. This action will keep your notes intact.

Marvin can translate a non-English speaking video or audio into English. If your file is a non-English speaking file, "Translate" button will be displayed under the video.

To translate, simply click the translate button below the video.

This action will still keep the original transcript and notes intact. You can click it to revert to the original language.
