How do I set up My Topics?

Navigate to Discover Research and select the Marvin Insights tab.

If this is your first time creating a topic to track, select “Create your first topic”.

Or select “Add new topic” under the topics you’re already tracking.

To make sure you see the most relevant information in reports, you need to give Marvin the following context:

The name of the topic: Marvin will mention use this to search for information and also mention it above the heading in each report. Please pick a name that is easy to understand and remember, especially if you share it to a Slack channel or your DM.

About the topic: Mention how you will use the insights in the report and the kind of data you want Marvin to gather. You can even specify a format, such as a comparison table or a list.

Choose projects: Marvin will only scan the projects that you select to gather data and synthesize it into a report. Pick the projects that are most relevant to the topic to keep the insights focused.

Choose where Marvin shares the report: Select your Slack DM or a channel to get insights where you work. We highly recommend you set this up to make sure you never miss a report.

Once you've added all the details, click "Create Topic" to set it up. You'll receive the reports every week.

To customize which projects Marvin should consider to make these reports, click “Settings” in the top right corner of the page. Marvin will only scan the selected projects to track topics.

Do note that if any user selects or deselects a project, the settings are updated for the entire team. Please be careful while making changes, as this will impact the reports visible to all team members.

When will I receive the reports?

For the first five custom topics you set up, Marvin will create and share the reports within an hour. The sixth topic onwards, you will receive reports every Monday morning (US hours).

If you set it up to be sent to a channel, everyone on the channel will be able to view it.

To check the sources used to generate Insights, read the report on Marvin. All users will be able to read the Insights, but if the cited source is from a project they don’t have access to, they will not be able to open the linked file.
