Use your Okta credentials to log in to Marvin with single sign-on

You can use your Okta credentials to sign up and login to Marvin*. You’ll see the Okta single sign-on option (SSO) on the Marvin home page.

*Only Enterprise users can use their Okta SSO to sign up and login

How to Use Okta SSO

You need to set up Marvin in your team’s Okta account to be able to use the SSO. You need to be an Admin in Okta to be able to complete all these steps.

Search for HeyMarvin in the ‘Search integrations’ bar. Click ‘Add Integration’ to install the Marvin application in your Okta account. Make sure that the email ID exactly matches the email ID you used for your Okta account.

To finish setting up, you need to send some information to the Marvin support team and edit a setting in Okta.

Copy and change Okta settings

In the Okta admin page, click on the Marvin User Research and Development Platform application. Navigate to the Sign On tab.

Copy the ‘Client ID’ and ‘Client secret’ (click the eye button to toggle the visibility)

You’ll see a pop-up at the bottom of the page telling you that OpenID Connect is not configured.

Click on the link for ‘OpenID Provider Metadata’. You’ll see a JSON document open up. Look for a key titled ‘issuer’ and copy the URL.

Assign Users

An Admin in Okta needs to assign you in Marvin from the assignment tab in the dashboard.

Send the information to Marvin

Once you have all the information (summarized below), email it to

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret

  • Issuer URL

Marvin support will handle your request and get back to you once the integration is configured. This usually takes 24 hours.
