Create auto-note via AI
Updated this week

To create an auto-note via AI, you would typically follow a process that involves the AI tool analyzing the content of a research project, such as interviews or customer calls.

Simply follow the following process:

  1. Navigate to the project

  2. Select the interview or recording that you would like to add auto-note

  3. Click "Create auto-note via AI"

  4. Choose the Discussion Guide that AI will use to match the questions asked

  5. Click "Create auto-note via AI"

The AI is designed to extract questions and their corresponding answers from the transcripts and attempts to match those questions to a pre-existing discussion guide. When a match is found, the question from the discussion guide is used; if there is no match, the question is left as is, without being added to the discussion guide.

Additionally, if a user wishes to add any important points that the AI might have missed or to ensure certain details are captured, they can manually highlight parts of the transcript or video, and the AI will include that information in the notes. The resulting auto-notes are presented in a Q&A format for easy visibility.

Users can also use the AI to create a synthesis of conversations, which can be particularly helpful when no prior note-taking was done. The auto-note via AI feature streamlines the process by making it possible to generate summaries quickly without the need to comb through every part of the interview manually. Moreover, these auto-generated notes can be edited or supplemented with additional notes as needed.

This feature is part of Marvin's suite of tools designed to assist researchers in organizing and analyzing qualitative data.
