With our UserTesting integration, you can import video sessions into Marvin projects. Currently, this method does not support importing UserTesting surveys.
To import a survey, download the data and upload it as a CSV in Marvin.
You must be an Admin, Full seat user, or Collaborator on an Enterprise plan to import from UserTesting.
Follow the instuctions in this video or read the article to integrate with UserTesting.
To begin, add Marvin as a contributor to your UserTesting workspace. If it is a private or hidden workspace, only UserTesting admins and workspace owners can invite users to join.
You'll only have to do it the first time you import. Marvin will remember the details for next time.
If you are based outside the EU, please invite [email protected] to be a contributor to your UserTesting workspace.
If you are based in the EU, please invite [email protected].
Testing. Once done, you can start importing sessions into Marvin.
Add UserTesting sessions to a project
Please note that Marvin only supports import of video sessions from UserTesting. At the moment, you can’t import surveys from UserTesting. In case you're trying to import an updated think-out-loud test, you may face some issues. Please reach out to us at [email protected] for assistance.
To begin, navigate to Files in your project. Select Add new files > Import files > UserTesting .
Enter the link where the sessions are stored on UserTesting. Make sure that you paste the link to a study, rather than an individual session.
To locate the link to a study in UserTesting:
Open the relevant folder in the left navigation menu in UserTesting.
Click the three dots on any test.
3. Select Share.
4. Click Copy link.
Alternatively, you can:
Navigate to Tests in the left navigation panel in UserTesting.
Click the three dots on one of the tests.
Select Share.
Click Copy link.
To make sure you have the right type of link, make sure it's in this format:
https://app.usertesting.com/workspaces/######/study/######/sessions
Select the sessions and click Import.
Choose which metadata fields you want to apply as file tags before you finish the import.
You’ll see a confirmation on your screen once the files are successfully imported.
How do I access my imported sessions from UserTesting?
You'll see the imported sessions in Files in the project where you initiated the import.
If you imported session metadata, such as device, screener segment, test variant, and participant group, you'll see it attached as file tags.
For every video, Marvin extracts the task structure from UserTesting. You'll see each task as a marker in the video player. Hover over a marker to see the task info
You can also click a marker to jump to the specific clip in the session.
