Why does Marvin cite sources in Ask AI results?

Ask AI helps you answer questions about your customers, market, and brand so you can make evidence-backed decisions. Every insight in an answer links to the data your team has collected. Marvin adds in-line citations to help you immediately trace it to the source file, understand the context, verify the data, and dive deeper.

Each citation lists the number of sources that support the insight, so you can decide how much weight to attribute to the data.

Marvin runs multiple checks to make Ask AI results accurate and credible. However, we recommend that you always verify all information before including it in reports or using it for decision-making. This includes Ask AI queries, cross-project analysis, results on the Discover Research page, call summaries, and auto notes.

How do I check the citations in Ask AI?

When the answer to Ask AI your query is ready, you’ll see X citations against each insight. X tells you how many files contain data that supports the insight. Click X citations to see the entire list.

Marvin will show you all the details of the source, such as file name, folder, date, and the corresponding time stamp for interviews.

Click Open file under any source to go to the exact line, response, or clip in the file.

The sources will be mentioned at the end of the answer too.

You can choose to see a list of all sources. When you click “See all”, they’ll be listed in a panel on the left. You can read the summary and go to the file too.

On the Discover Research page too, you’ll be able to check the sources for each answer. The format will vary by the document you focus on.
